The staff at our hospital is made up of dedicated professionals who have made it their mission to help pets live long and healthy lives.

To be true to this mission the hospital team relies on several people, where each team member is equally important in helping us deliver the best care for both you and your pet.

Meet the team:

Dr. Kimberlee M Young VMD
Dr. Young graduated from the University Of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She has been a resident of New Jersey for the past 18 years. After her graduation, she worked at the animal Hospital in Secaucus located at 1250 Paterson Plank Rd as an associate veterinarian for Dr. Philip Teitel and along side Dr Richard Brady. Dr. young also enjoyed being a resident of Secaucus during this time with her husband and children. She moved to another town to start her own business and hospital in 2003 and is happy to have now been able to return back to her preferred place to practice medicine, Secaucus, and in the same building she began her career.
Dr Young has been very active in all breed animal rescue, wildlife rescue, as well as several breed specific animal rescue organizations for over 25 years and even founded her own animal rescue organization in 2003, The Lend-A-Paw Animal Rescue Organization. She was also the veterinarian for the Philadelphia Animal Shelter while in her last years of veterinary school. Some of her breed specific rescues have been for Rottweilers, APBTs, Cocker Spaniels, Great Danes,and Birmans to name a few.
Dr Young is very knowledgable on pedigreed breeds as she has bred and shown Birmans in CFA for over 12 years in her CFA cattery of Excellence, achieving numerous titles of champions, grand champions, regional winners and the National Best of her Breed in 2005. She has also over the years, bred and shown various AKC dog breeds to include Rottweilers, Cocker Spaniels, Chihuahuas, and most recently Great Danes, and French Bulldogs. Her areas of special interest include surgery, radiology, reproduction, genetics, and pediatrics.
When she does have some free time, Dr Young enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family which includes her husband, and 5 young children and their at home menagerie. Her always growing “Youngzoo”, currently includes several rescued cats, her Birmans, Great Danes, French Bulldogs, Chihuahua, Hedge Hog, Panther Chameleons, Guinea Pigs, Fish, and a Hamster.

Tami Larsen
Head Receptionist and Front Office Management
Tami has been a resident of Secaucus for over 20 years and has been a dedicated employee as a receptionist at the animal hospital at Paterson Plank Rd for over 30 years. She is highly dedicated to all animal welfare and has been very actively involved in all breed and breed specific rescues as well for over 30 years. She often fosters animals and rehabilitates them until they are ready and healthy enough for their new forever homes. She has a true heart of gold and is always willing to give of herself and her time even for the most hopeless cases. She gives them hope and ensures them a wonderful future.
Tami is very well known by the residents of Secaucus for her warm personality and caring nature, and is an integral part of the animal hospitals success. She is always upbeat and welcoming to all clients at the front desk of the hospital.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her 2 young children, coaching soccer and supporting the children’s sporting events in town, and spending time with her many rescued pets. These include her German Shepherd, Bull Mastiff, Chihuahua, Poodle, Poodle mix, Persian, Gecko, Bearded Dragon, fish, hamster, tortoise, and fosters.

Gary Veach
Reception/Front Office Management/Technician
Gary has been a wonderful and dedicated member of Dr Young’s animal hospital for over 8 years. His outgoing and friendly personality and genuine concern for both the patients and their owners is obvious. He is very knowledgable on both dogs and cats in many areas as he has been a member of both CFA and AKC and a breeder of both dogs and cats for over 33 years. Some of his favorite breeds include, Persians, Oriental Shorthairs, Manx, Exotics, Pekingese, Italian Greyhounds, and Poodles to name a few. He has successfully improved the breeds and obtained numerous titles to include championships, grand champions, and also achieved many Regional and National Winners.
Gary has been an International Cat Show judge with CFA for over 20 years. His experience and knowledge is a huge asset to the animal hospital and the clients. He is appreciated for his always happy cheerful greeting of the clients and offers excellent customer service.
He is very active in and always willing to assist with animal rescue and has been involved in the successful placement of hundreds of homeless animals as well as served on the board of Lend-A-Paw Animal Rescue for years. He is an active member of many cat clubs which include the prestigious NJ Garden State Cat Club, one of the oldest in the country.
In his spare time he enjoys traveling the world to cat shows, meeting new people, doing beautiful needlepoint, and spending time with his family, and pets.

Ann Larsen
Ann has been a book keeper for the animal hospital at Paterson Plank Rd for over 30 Years. Her knowledge and expertise has been a major contributing factor to the many years of continued success of the hospital. Her experience as well as her positive, outgoing, punchy personality and genuine caring for the patients and the clients, has proven to be an asset and makes her a valuable member of Dr. Young’s team.
In her spare time, Ann enjoys spending time with her family and two grandchildren as well as pursuing her love of art journaling and collaging. Her menagerie includes her 2 rescued cats, her Welsh Corgi, and a rescued Lovebird and Parakeet.

Edward Murray
Technician / Surgical Assistant / Dental Assistant
Eddie has over 20 years experience as a veterinary technician. He is extremely skilled in all areas of animal restraint, handling, administering medications, dentistry, surgical assistance, taking and developing x-rays, as well as drawing blood and running in house laboratory testing, placing IV catheters, and numerous more technical skills. He has a natural way with all animals and shows wonderful compassion and caring for all the patients and their owners. He is dedicated to all animal comfort and welfare and is a valuable member of our team. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping, and spending time with his family which includes an adorable FrenchBulldog.

Denise DiPaolo
Technician / Surgical Assistant
Denise has over 6 years experience as veterinarian technician. Her dedication goes above and beyond and she can always be counted on even after hours and during emergencies. She is committed to all animal welfare and has amazing compassion and serves as a wonderful and much appreciated member of our staff and team. She is active in animal rescue and rehabilitation and has hand raised numerous orphans. She also is a dedicated teacher and works full time during the school year with young children in this capacity. She has a wonderful sweet, caring, and bubbling personality as all who know her can attest to. When not working she enjoys athletics, coaching, teaching kick boxing, as well as spending time with her family which includes 3 Boston Terriers.

Brianna Young
Part time Technician / Surgical Assistant
Brianna is a full time high school student and a wonderful assistant and help to our team when ever she is called upon to assist. She is very compassionate and caring and has a wonderful way with animals of all types. She enjoys art and is a very talented young artist taking college level art courses and animals are often the subject of her art works. She enjoys and excels in many forms of art such as sketching, drawing, painting, computer drawing & graphics, and anime.
